If your posts are not being read, is it worth your effort in writing them? Should you do something else and eliminate your blogs altogether? The answers are – Yes, your blog posts are worthwhile.  No, it would be a big mistake to eliminate them.

What, then, do you need to do?

You can’t expect the great prospects you desire to find your websites or read your posts. You need to find them and let them know about each new post.

Ways to Get Your Prospects to Read Your Posts

Here are five steps you can take immediately to get prospects to read new posts on your blog:

  • Look at your databases. See which customers and prospects would be most interested in more information about your company and what you offer. Create a subdirectory with their names and email addresses. Each time you publish a new post, send an email to everyone in that subdirectory alerting them to it and inviting them to read it. Also offer them the opportunity to subscribe to your blog.  Track those who don’t subscribe and send them an email every time there is a new blog post.
  • Have Share buttons at the end of each post which allow your readers to share the post in their own networks.
  • Look for businesses which complement yours and have blogs. Ask them if you can place guest posts on their blogs.
  • Get information on each of your new blog posts out to as many Social Media platforms (LinkedIn, Facebook, Google Plus, Twitter, Reddit, Stumble upon, etc.) as you can. Where possible, publish every new blog post on these sites. In those instances where you can’t, let your readers know about each new blog post and have a link to it.
  • Make a comment in every networking group you belong. At the end insert a link to the post on our site.

Most of your competitors will not be taking this aggressive approach. By following through on each step you will be separating your company from theirs. You will also be getting each of your blog posts in front of many more prospects.
