Does your company desire to be the best it can be and become the leader in its niche? If that is one of its major objectives and your company is not there now, there are several different things that have to be in place for it to become the best.

First – your product or service has to be just as good or better than any of your competitors.

Second – you and the others in your marketing department have to build trust with your prospects. You have to provide them with the marketing materials to get them familiar with your product or service. You have to show them your product or service is better at meeting what they need than your competitors. You also need to show them your company will take far better care of them than any of your competitors.

Third – your sales force has to be good at making your ideal prospects aware of the product or service you offer and how it can meet their needs. Your sales force also has to show your company takes pride in the way it takes care of your customers.

All of these components play an integral part in helping your company achieve its goal – to become the best it can be.

Marketing Plays a Strategic Role

 

You and your associates in the Marketing Department play one role in this. However, that role is one of the most strategic.

  • Your company can have the best product or service available.
  • It can provide the best customer service – far better than your nearest competitor.
  • However, if a prospect does not know this, your company will never make the sales it can. It will never become the number one in your niche.

Your Marketing Department has to have far better marketing campaigns, including Content Marketing campaigns, than your competitors.

How Do You and Your Associates in the Marketing Department Do This?

 

How do you develop great marketing campaigns? You constantly strive for excellence in your work. Your goal is to make sure every marketing piece you create (every blog post, article, white paper, case study, webinar, etc.) is the best it can be.

The first place to start is to know what your competitors’ marketing looks like. Start with the company that is number one in your niche. What does their marketing look like? Are their emails better than the other companies in your niche? What about their articles? Are their white papers and case studies exceptional?

What are they doing in their marketing that is far above yours and your competitors’?

These Are the Areas You Need to Improve

 

This is where you need to excel.

After you finish reviewing the marketing of the company that is dominating your niche, review the marketing of your other competitors. Some of them may be trying to do the same thing you are – to move up in the niche.  See if their marketing is better than the top company’s.

All of the marketing of some of your other competitors may not be exceptional. However, there may be certain areas where it is Their blog posts may relate better to prospects. What are they doing here to make them more personable?  Their white papers are easier to read and keep the attention of whoever reads them. How do they do this?  They are doing webinars which are very effective.  What about them is so special?

After you finish reviewing your competitors’ marketing look at the marketing of other companies outside your niche or industry. Here you want to look for companies that have effective marketing pieces. What makes these pieces exceptional? How ca you imitate them?

Take All You Learn from Your Research and Apply . . .

 

. . . it to the marketing pieces you do. You will find your marketing pieces not only will be better but they will be significantly better.

You and your associates will transform your marketing very quickly to the best not only in your company’s niche but also in many others.
